Carilion Clinic in Roanoke is seeking a part-time Mobile MRI Technician (Float) to perform MRI imaging across Franklin, Rockbridge, and NRV sites. The role involves operating advanced MRI equipment, administering IV contrast when required, and ensuring high-quality diagnostic images.

The position requires ARRT MRI certification (or equivalent), a high school diploma or GED, and strong interpersonal and technical skills. Shifts include 6:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• ARRT MRI certification or equivalent required; MRI certificate accepted.
• AHA BLS-HCP required.

Responsibilities

• Performs MRI imaging procedures for radiologic diagnosis across ages.
• Operates MRI equipment and performs IV contrast injections as required.
• Handles patient processing tasks including scheduling, registration and file management.
• Maintains compliance with Carilion Clinic policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Assists in training students and staff as assigned.

HOURS: Any 3 days Monday - Friday; either 6:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. depending on the site.

Primary Location: The primary location for this position will be Roanoke but will float mainly to Franklin, Rockbridge, or NRV.

The MRI Technologist performs MRI imaging procedures, operates specialized equipment, and ensures high-quality diagnostic imaging.

The MRI Technologist

• Performs a variety of technical procedures to apply magnetic resonance imaging for radiological diagnosis of patients of all ages.
• Applies knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for all patients served.
• Operates highly specialized, technical equipment to obtain quality images. Performs IV contrast injections and other skills as required.
• Performs duties associated with processing patients, which may include scheduling, registration, file management and computer processing skills.
• Complies with all Carilion Clinic and Imaging policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines.
• Participates in the training of students and staff as assigned.
• Maintains appropriate registry and MRI registry. Must maintain CEU's in MRI for accreditation. Enhances personal and professional growth through participation in educational opportunities.

What We Require:

Education: High school diploma or GED required. Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology required.

Experience: None

Licensure/Certification: Certified/registered by ARRT in MRI, or certified/registered in an imaging profession by ARRT, NMTCB, or ARDMS, or eligible for MRI advanced certification by meeting ARRT candidate requirements required. MRI certificate accepted. Applicants who have completed MRI school or are currently enrolled in MRI school will be considered. AHA BLS-HCP required.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Strong interpersonal and technical skills with flexibility in assignments.

Compensation Range: $33.52 - $50.28

Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
