Job summary

Carilion Clinic is seeking a Mobile MRI Tech (Float) to perform MRI imaging, operate equipment, and deliver high-quality diagnostic images across sites in Roanoke and surrounding areas. This part-time role requires ARRT MRI certification and BLS.

You’ll work three days weekly, with shifts 6:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., and you may float to Franklin, Rockbridge, NRV. Sign-on bonus up to $15,000 and benefits accompany employment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; approved Radiologic Technology program graduate preferred.
• ARRT MRI certification or eligibility required; BLS-HCP required.
• Ability to work flexible shifts and float to multiple sites.
• Strong interpersonal and technical skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI imaging procedures and operate MRI equipment.
• Acquire high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
• Perform IV contrast injections and related patient care tasks.
• Handle patient scheduling, registration, and chart/file processing as needed.
• Maintain MRI registry and CEUs to meet accreditation.

How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare:

Up to $15,000 new hire sign on bonus available.

HOURS: Any 3 days Monday - Friday; either 6:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. depending on the site.

The primary location for this position will be Roanoke but will float mainly to Franklin, Rockbridge, or NRV.

• The MRI Technologist performs MRI imaging procedures, operates specialized equipment, and ensures high-quality diagnostic imaging.
• The MRI Technologist Performs a variety of technical procedures to apply magnetic resonance imaging for radiological diagnosis of patients of all ages.
• Applies knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for all patients served.
• Operates highly specialized, technical equipment to obtain quality images.
• Performs IV contrast injections and other skills as required.
• Performs duties associated with processing patients, which may include scheduling, registration, file management and computer processing skills.
• Complies with all Carilion Clinic and Imaging policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines.
• Participates in the training of students and staff as assigned.
• Maintains appropriate registry and MRI registry.
• Must maintain CEU's in MRI for accreditation.
• Enhances personal and professional growth through participation in educational opportunities.

What We Require:

• Education: High school diploma or GED required. Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology required.
• Experience: None
• Licensure/Certification: Certified/registered by ARRT in MRI, or certified/registered in an imaging profession by ARRT, NMTCB, or ARDMS, or eligible for MRI advanced certification by meeting ARRT candidate requirements required. MRI certificate accepted. Applicants who have completed MRI school or are currently enrolled in MRI school will be considered. AHA BLS-HCP required.
• Other Minimum Qualifications: Strong interpersonal and technical skills with flexibility in assignments.
• Incumbents may be required to perform other job-related duties as assigned.
• Compensation Range: $33.52 - $50.28 Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
