Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking an Ambulette Driver at Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati to provide safe non-emergency transportation for ambulatory and wheelchair passengers. The driver will adhere to safety standards, keep the vehicle clean, and interact with passengers professionally.

Responsibilities include CPR and First Aid as needed, direct communication with dispatch, and maintaining accurate passenger and scheduling information.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license in state of practice required.
• DOT physical certificate and CPR with First Aid course required before hire (SC state requirements for licensed wheelchair transport services).
• One year of acceptable driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Complies with ambulance service policies to ensure quality, safety and efficiency.
• Transports ambulatory and wheelchair passengers to and from destinations; assists patients as needed.
• Operates ambulette safely and follows road laws and vehicle protocols.
• Keeps the unit clean and presents it professionally; ensures passenger comfort and safety.
