Mercy Health in Lima, OH, is seeking an Ambulette Driver for safe non-emergency transportation of ambulatory and wheelchair passengers to health care services. The driver will observe all safety guidelines and keep the vehicle in good repair, presenting a professional image and interacting with patients kindly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license in state of practice required.
• DOT physical certificate and CPR with First Aid course required before hire.
• One year of acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Operates ambulette safely and observes all road and vehicle laws.
• Transports ambulatory and wheelchair passengers to and from scheduled or requested destinations.
• Assist patients as needed into/out of facility or residence.
• Directs and guides passenger activities from arrival to drop off at desired destinations.
• Performs CPR and/or basic first-aid as needed and summons for assistance as outlined by emergency procedures.
• Communicates with central dispatch via radio for changes or instructions to schedule, passenger status, and emergencies.
• Ascertains appropriate passenger information for billing, scheduling, and reporting as outlined by facility.
• Keeps patient information confidential and participates in staff meetings and policy updates.
