Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Driver-Patient Services Representative to operate and maintain a mobile mammography vehicle, greet patients, conduct intake, and coordinate with health educators. You will train junior staff and ensure safe, efficient transport between home base and service sites.

The role requires 2+ years driving a large vehicle, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and flexibility for long shifts and weekends.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience as driver of a mobile van, EMS vehicle or operator of a vehicle of similar size (42 foot) under similar circumstances, preferably medically related.
• Interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively and engage with clients as well as staff while working in close quarters.
• Ability to work extended shifts (12+ hours) and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Drives to and from the scheduled service sites.
• Maintains awareness of potential risk to patients, staff and facility while operating the vehicle.
• Serves as patient services representative while not driving; registers patients and reviews paperwork; initiates screening intake forms.
• Directs patients to dressing rooms and assists in daily workflow.
• Works with health educator/navigator to locate diagnostic facilities for screened patients.
• Trains and mentors junior Driver-Patient Services staff.
• Inspects vehicle before/after trips; maintains logs and mileage records.
• Responds to vehicle emergencies per management instructions.
• Plans routes on non-driving days; coordinates parking with host facilities.
• Keeps records of maintenance and travel costs; manages fuel and tolls.
