Job summary

OhioHealth is seeking a dedicated Radiology Tech Aide to coordinate mobile mammography events and assist the clinical team during biopsy procedures. You will communicate with the community and partners, ensure rooms and supplies are ready, and support patient care with strong organizational and conversational skills.

Responsibilities include aiding technologists, greeting patients, handing off to clinicians, transporting patients as needed, and maintaining a clean, stocked environment.

Qualifications

  • High School or GED (Required)
  • BLS (Red Cross) - Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers - American Red Cross
  • Strong and appropriate communication and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer skills. Excellent customer service skills.
  • Six months to one year experience in a position with public contact.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Technologists in performance of procedures.
  • Greeting/Exiting Patients and providing explanations within appropriate scope and addressing questions/concerns.
  • Provides effective hand-off to clinicians.
  • Support patient care and throughput with directional assistance and patient transportation as needed.
  • Prepare and stock department rooms; ensure cleanliness and supplies are adequate.
  • Provide telemetry support and communicate patient needs/status changes to the clinician.
  • Maintain safety, quality, and efficiency as part of a High Reliability Organization (HRO).

Job Description Summary:

This position is a dual role serving as the mobile mammo coordinator along with assisting the clinical team during biopsy procedures. In this role you will communicate, coordinate with the community and business partners to assure successful mobile events. Knowledge and experience with excel and word along with excellent communication both verbally and via email are needed. Proficient organizational skills and efficiency with daily tasks.
The Radiology Tech Aide duties include but are not limited to the following: provide support to clinicians in the preparation, performance and post procedural work of providing patient care. Ensuring rooms are appropriately stocked and cleaned pre and post procedure, setting up supplies for procedures, ensuring adequate supply volume, greeting patients and assisting patients.

Greeting/Exiting Patients: In alignment with OhioHealth values:

Exhibits excellent communication to both clinicians and patients by: greeting patients, providing appropriate explanation within appropriate scope and elevates patient questions/concerns where appropriate.

Provides effective hand-off to clinicians.

Supports patient care and throughput by providing: directional assistance and patient transportation as needed either by wheelchair or cart.

Department/Room Preparation: Routinely assesses par level of supplies and stocks departments(s) to ensure adequate supply level in the department(s) at all times. Supports department cleanliness by ensuring linens are available and ensures each room is appropriately cleaned and prepared for patient care.

Clinical Support: Provides telemetry support as needed. Routinely assesses patient need to ensure all patient needs/status changes are communicated in a professional and timely manner to the clinician in charge and/or clinician with which they are working.

As a High Reliability Organization (HRO), responsibilities require focus on safety, quality and efficiency in performing job duties.
