What You'll Do:
- Champion Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with OSHA/MSHA and Vulcan standards. Comply with all Safety, Health, Environmental, and other Company policies, procedures, and requirements.
- Manage Team. Direct the activities of repair and maintenance personnel. Assist with training, scheduling, assigning tasks, and evaluating performance. Ensure accurate timekeeping and proper charge to cost accounts.
- Repair and Maintain Equipment. Assist with repair planning of mobile equipment. Ensure all equipment is maintained per Vulcan standards and guidelines. Make repairs that maximize equipment availability at acceptable costs.
- Monitor Costs. Evaluate employee performance and the effectiveness of repair and maintenance programs to identify improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate. Work closely with Central Services, vendors, and manufacturers to ensure correct repair and maintenance of mobile equipment. Coordinate with other plants to ensure equipment availability for efficient production.
- Maintain Records. Keep repair and maintenance records using the Equipment Maintenance System and other methods.
- Additional Responsibilities. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Skills You'll Need:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 5 years of heavy equipment repair and maintenance experience.
- Functional Knowledge: Strong knowledge of shop waste products, environmental impact, and disposal.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to motivate and accomplish tasks through delegation and teamwork.
- Flexibility: Willing to work overtime, extended hours, outdoors in all weather, and tolerate loud noises.
