Job summary

Nucor Steel-Hertford County is seeking a Mobile Maintenance Mechanic to coordinate housekeeping and safety, and to maintain and repair mobile equipment and overhead cranes. You’ll support the steel making process and work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Safety is paramount; candidates must uphold policies and housekeeping standards at all times to ensure safe, efficient operations within our NC facility.

Qualifications

• 2 years of heavy industrial maintenance experience or relevant technical degree.
• 2- or 4-year engineering or technical degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Basic Job Functions

Nucor Steel-Hertford County is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Mobile Maintenance Mechanic. The successful candidate will coordinate housekeeping/safety efforts, be part of a crew that performs maintenance on, repairs and improves the mobile equipment and overhead cranes at Nucor Steel-Hertford County as well as supporting the overall operation of the steel making process. This position requires working weekends, holidays and scheduled/unscheduled overtime. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications

• 2 years of heavy industrial maintenance experience or relevant technical degree
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• 4 or more years of heavy industrial millwright experience
• AWS Certified Welder
• 2- or 4-year engineering or technical degree
