Job summary

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy mobile equipment and perform preventive maintenance. The role requires strong troubleshooting across hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

What You'll Be Doing

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy mobile equipment to maximize operational uptime.
• Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections on a variety of heavy-duty equipment.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders in a timely manner.
• Promote a safe work environment by following company policies and established procedures.

What Are We Looking For

• Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeyperson certification or equivalent mechanical trade qualification.
• Hazardous Materials Endorsement Preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair heavy equipment efficiently and safely.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced maintenance environment.

Conditions of Employment

• Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.
• Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class A or B) with clean driving record
• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to apply. Verification of age will be required as a condition of employment.

Work Environment

• Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.
• Swing shift, 12:00 PM - 10:00 PM, 4 days on.
