Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America is seeking a maintenance technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair mobile heavy equipment used in mining and construction. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance to maximize reliability, safety, and efficiency on job sites across industrial environments.

You will troubleshoot diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and powertrains while following strict safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mobile heavy equipment including haul trucks, loaders, excavators, dozers, and support equipment.

• Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, drivetrain, and engine systems to minimize downtime.
• Complete work orders, maintenance documentation, and equipment inspections accurately and timely.

Job description

Inspect, diagnose, and repair mobile heavy equipment including haul trucks, loaders, excavators, dozers, and support equipment.

Perform preventive maintenance to maximize equipment reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.

Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, drivetrain, and engine systems to minimize downtime.

Complete work orders, maintenance documentation, and equipment inspections accurately and timely.

Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to support safe and continuous plant production.

What Are We Looking For

Demonstrated ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heavy mobile equipment in an industrial, mining, quarry, construction, or similar environment.

Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, powertrains, and related mechanical components.

Commitment to safety with the ability to follow company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic information to effectively resolve equipment issues.

Dependable team player with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently when needed.

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.

Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing.

• Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.
