Job summary

Air Services of the Carolinas is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. You will operate as a mobile field technician, addressing mechanical and electrical issues to ensure comfort and energy efficiency for homes and businesses.

Qualified candidates have 2–5 years of field experience, EPA Section 608 certification, and strong skills in reading schematics and gas furnace analysis.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of HVAC technical program or apprenticeship strongly preferred.
• EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal) is mandatory.
• 2–5 years of residential/commercial field service experience typical.
• Proficient reading electrical schematics and diagnosing voltage issues.
• Ability to work in tight spaces and lift up to 50–75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting non-functioning HVAC systems and identify faults.
• Repair or replace components like compressors, motors, capacitors, switches, thermostats, wiring.
• Perform preventative maintenance, tune-ups, coil cleaning, refrigerant checks.
• Test system operation using multimeters, gauges, and vacuum pumps.
• Explain findings to customers and provide repair estimates and upgrades.
• Document parts used, work performed, and warranty details.
