Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking motivated apprentices to join our HVAC team, gaining hands-on experience on client sites. You'll participate in the Service Technical Academy and earn certifications while contributing to efficient facility operation.

As part of a bargaining unit, you will learn to troubleshoot HVAC systems, communicate with customers, and progress toward independent work. Union-supported benefits accompany the compensation plan.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of industry experience or experience in servicing mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
• Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Apprentices will be trained and will perform on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites.
• Apprentices will participate in certified training through Service Technical Academy to build skill sets.
• Through coaching and mentorship, apprentices will troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and customer needs.
• Keep Johnson Controls, contractors, and the customer advised of job progress and issues.
• Meet attendance requirements for required Union training for first year.
• Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility runs efficiently and upsell where appropriate.
• Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
