Job summary

Johnson Controls on-site role in Boise, ID seeks a skilled Controls Technician to install, service, and troubleshoot building automation systems. You will work directly with customers to diagnose issues, propose retrofits, and ensure high satisfaction at the job site.

Responsibilities include mentoring other technicians, documenting work, and collaborating with project teams to optimize energy management and system performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of commercial controls troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry.
• Vocational school program graduate or an associate’s degree in a technical field, or two years’ experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems.
• Demonstrated ability to install and/or service electronic control systems and HVAC equipment.
• Effective communication skills to represent Johnson Controls on customer sites.
• Knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls and building subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex control systems malfunctions requiring extensive knowledge of electronic or digital controls.
• Provide field proposals for retrofits, upgrades and enhancements to existing equipment; assist sales with technical recommendations.
• Manage assigned work to ensure professional and efficient execution; update management on progress and issues.
• Provide sketches, diagrams, and field changes for engineering corrections and drawings.
• Communicate with customers on arrival, during service, and before leaving the site; promote system enhancements.
• Train customers in control systems operations and deliver manuals as required.
• Mentor technicians on building automation systems and support certification activities.
