Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks an experienced controls technician to perform preventive maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning of building automation systems on site. You will troubleshoot complex systems, mentor junior technicians, and deliver clear service documentation to ensure peak energy efficiency and reliability for customers.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years commercial controls troubleshooting experience in HVAC.
• Technical degree or two years’ servicing electronic or mechanical systems accepted.
• Ability to install and service electronic control systems and HVAC equipment.
• Effective written and spoken communication to represent Johnson Controls on sites.
• Knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, low voltage and building automation.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex control system malfunctions across multiple software languages.
• Provide field proposals for retrofits, upgrades, and enhancements; assist sales with technical input.
• Manage work to ensure timely, high-quality execution and customer satisfaction.
• Install and modify software and graphics; create field sketches and as-built documentation.
• Train customers on system operation and deliver training materials as required.
• Mentor and coach technicians on building automation systems; ensure safety standards.
