Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks an experienced HVAC controls technician to perform preventive maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning of building automation systems at customer sites. The role emphasizes high customer satisfaction through on-site interface and strong technical competency.

Responsibilities include diagnosing complex control system malfunctions, proposing field retrofits or enhancements, and mentoring junior technicians while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of commercial controls troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry.
• Vocational School program graduate or an associate's degree in a technical field, or two years’ experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems.
• Demonstrated ability to install and/or service electronic control systems and HVAC equipment.
• Effective communication and writing skills; ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex control system malfunctions across diverse hardware and software.
• Provide field proposals for retrofits, upgrades, and enhancements; support sales with technical recommendations.
• Coordinate work to meet project timelines and customer satisfaction; document findings and progress.
• Mentor technicians on building automation activities and ensure safety standards are followed.
• Train customers on control systems operations and deliver necessary manuals.
