Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks an experienced engineer to design, service, and optimize HVAC building control systems and related sub-systems at our Houston facilities. You will develop software, perform commissioning, and provide submittals to support customer projects and field teams.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least five years in construction, service, or HVAC, with knowledge of control theory and building automation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or minimum 5 years’ experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the construction or service, or HVAC industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of control theory, building automation systems and other building subsystems.
  • Experience integrating low voltage building sub-systems using various industry protocols (LON, BACnet).
  • Ability to relate technical knowledge to a non-technical audience; strong CAD skills.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for service, repair, design, configuration, and operation of complete HVAC building control systems and other low voltage sub-systems to meet customer and JCI goals.
  • Develops complex software programs, commissioning and solving to ensure proper operation of the building control system.
  • Provides detailed information and submittals to communicate design and operation to customers, consultants, Sales and Service team and subcontractors.
  • Designs, configures and services technically complex building control systems for the customer facility.
