Job summary

HITACHI ENERGY USA INC in Earth City, Missouri is seeking a High Voltage Test Engineer to support transformer services by operating mobile high voltage test equipment and performing electrical tests at customer sites. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience in transformers.
• Experience performing transformer testing and supporting field service operations.
• Knowledge of IEEE, IEC, and NEMA industry standards.
• Experience using Microsoft Office 365 and preparing technical reports.
• Hands-on experience with low voltage testing such as winding resistance, turns ratio, excitation, and power factor.
• Willingness to travel up to 40–50% if based Earth City, MO; up to 50–60% if based remote.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a mobile high voltage test trailer system.
• Perform applied voltage, induced voltage, partial discharge localization, and temperature rise testing.
• Investigate potential sources of partial discharge and develop corrective action plans.
• Analyze electrical test data and oil DGA results.
• Calibrate testing equipment and maintain mobile test system components.
• Prepare technical test reports and plans in support of proposal activities.
• Provide technical support to field crews and communicate with customers.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
