Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc. in Earth City, MO seeks a High Voltage Test Engineer to support transformer services by operating mobile high voltage test equipment at customer sites.

You will perform electrical tests, analyze results, and prepare technical reports, with travel as needed to customer locations. Requirements include a engineering degree, 5+ years transformer testing experience or 10+ years in transformer service, and familiarity with IEEE/IEC/NEMA standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in engineering or related field is required.
• 5+ years of transformer testing experience or 10+ years in transformer service operations is preferred.
• Experience with IEEE, IEC, and NEMA standards and documenting tests.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a mobile high voltage test trailer system.
• Perform applied voltage, induced voltage, partial discharge localization, and temperature rise testing.
• Investigate potential sources of partial discharge and develop corrective action plans.
• Analyze electrical test data and oil DGA results.
• Calibrate testing equipment and maintain mobile test system components.
• Prepare technical test reports and test plans for proposals.
