Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a senior field service professional to lead transformer installation and maintenance projects across diverse sites in the United States. You will drive electrical testing, coordinate 2-8+ technicians, and serve as the primary technical liaison for customers in critical field operations.

The role requires extensive travel (up to 85%), strong leadership, and a proven track record in safe, compliant field work on high‑voltage systems.

Qualifications

• As part of our background, an associate degree or 12 years transformer service experience is required.
• Three+ years supervising transformer service teams.
• Knowledge of transformer field service operations and electrical testing procedures.
• Expertise in transformer installation, vacuum/oil processing, and component assembly.
• Valid driver's license with up to 85% travel across territory.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and field leadership.
• Proven safe work around high-voltage equipment.
• Must already be authorized to work in the United States for Hitachi Energy.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical crews of 2-8+ specialists through transformer projects.
• Perform electrical testing: power factor, winding resistance, SFRA diagnostics.
• Serve as primary customer liaison and technical advisor during field ops.
• Optimize workflows by task assignments based on strengths and site conditions.
• Manage high-voltage equipment from distribution transformers to transmission gear.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on power infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineering to resolve challenges and implement solutions.
• Mentor junior technicians and promote safety excellence across operations.
• Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations and guidelines.
