Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a range of heavy machinery at our Phoenix site. You will perform engine, hydraulic, and electrical repairs, implement preventive maintenance, and keep detailed service records.

The role requires 3+ years in heavy equipment or diesel tech, relevant certifications, and the ability to lift heavy objects and work in confined spaces.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a heavy equipment mechanic or diesel technician
• Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
• ASE or OEM certifications are a plus
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work in confined spaces

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections and diagnostics on heavy equipment (forklifts, skid steers, loaders, cranes) to identify issues.
• Perform repairs and routine maintenance on engines, transmissions, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend machinery life.
• Maintain parts, tools, and supplies for timely repairs and maintenance.
• Document repairs and maintenance with detailed reports and ensure accuracy.
• Follow safety regulations and policies to maintain a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with mechanics, operators, and supervisors to resolve equipment issues.
