Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) is seeking a qualified Heavy Equipment Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy machinery such as forklifts, skid steers, loaders, and cranes at our Phoenix, AZ site. You will perform preventive maintenance, keep detailed service records, and work closely with operators and supervisors to keep equipment safe and running.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in heavy equipment maintenance, strong mechanical/hydraulic/electrical skills, and relevant ASE or OEM

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or similar role.
Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Relevant certifications (e.g., ASE, OEM-specific) are a plus.
Ability to lift heavy objects, work in confined spaces, and handle physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics on forklifts, skid steers, loaders, and cranes to identify issues.
Perform repairs and routine maintenance on engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
Implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend machinery life.
Keep parts, tools, and supplies organized to ensure timely repairs.
Document repairs, maintenance work, and parts used in detailed service reports.
Adhere to safety regulations and cooperate with team members to meet objectives.
