Job summary

Construction Masters Services and Summit Flagging is seeking a Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic to service and repair diesel-powered equipment and fleet trucks, both on-site and at client locations. The role requires diagnosing faults with testing equipment, performing major repairs, and maintaining tool inventories.

The ideal candidate has extensive diesel/equipment knowledge, crane operation ability, fabrication skills, and the capacity to work independently, with CDL and inspection licenses

Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment.
  • Ability to operate service truck with crane.
  • Fabrication & welding skills required.
  • Ability to work independently, utilize good judgement and make decisions.
  • CDL preferred.
  • State Inspection license preferred.
  • Experience with paving equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the service and repair of heavy equipment as well as fleet trucks, light equipment and tools
  • Diagnoses faults using computerized testing equipment
  • Adjusts equipment and replaces faulty parts
  • Performs major repair work when necessary
  • Reports damaged or faulty equipment to management
  • Drives to job sites to make repairs on site
  • Maintains detailed records of service vehicles
  • Ensures shop is clean and organized
  • Owns and maintains a master mechanic set of tools
  • Performs related duties as assigned
  • Maintains compliance with all company policies and procedures

Job Purpose:

The Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for the operation of the company’s service truck and crane to repair equipment on job-sites. This role also inspects, services, and maintains vehicles and equipment in the shop.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the service and repair of heavy equipment as well as fleet trucks, light equipment and tools
  • Diagnoses faults using computerized testing equipment
  • Adjusts equipment and replaces faulty parts
  • Performs major repair work when necessary
  • Reports damaged or faulty equipment to management
  • Drives to job sites to make repairs on site
  • Maintains detailed records of service vehicles
  • Ensures shop is clean and organized
  • Owns and maintains a master mechanic set of tools
  • Performs related duties as assigned
  • Maintains compliance with all company policies and procedures
Education, Skills and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Ability to travel 50% and make repairs at job site
  • Ability to withstand all weather conditions
  • Available to be on-call for emergency repairs
