Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking staff to operate and support a mobile health unit. The role includes transporting patients, assisting with unit operations, and ensuring safety protocols.

Responsibilities cover daily maintenance, coordinating driver coverage with the program coordinator, and performing checks on vehicle readiness and cleanliness. CPR certification and a valid CDL-B with passenger endorsement are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 1 year driving large vehicles preferred.
  • Current CPR certification; CPR training provided upon hire.
  • Valid state driver's license with regular monitoring; CDL-B with passenger endorsement recommended.
  • Ability to communicate factual information clearly in emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe environment and maintain compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Report safety events per organizational procedures and to the program coordinator.
  • Utilize emergency resources as directed for vehicle or client incidents.
  • Assist in transporting patients on and off mobile care units (wheelchair lift and stairs).
  • Assist with daily maintenance and oversee routine maintenance of the mobile care unit.
  • Transport team members and the mobile unit to/from client sites.
  • Maintain safe operations, including seatbelt use and adherence to traffic rules.
