Job summary

Mechanics Hub is seeking a Mobile Fleet Technician to service utility, telecom, rail, and forestry equipment in the Abilene area. You will work independently in the field, performing preventative maintenance and on-site repairs.

The role provides a take-home service vehicle, travel with overnight stays, and a $2,000 sign-on/balance bonus after 6 months. Experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and DOT/ANSI inspections is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as a diesel, automotive, or heavy equipment technician.
• Ability to perform DOT, ANSI, and dielectric inspections or willingness to become certified.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and ability to travel overnight.
• Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled services in the field.
• Conduct DOT inspections, ANSI boom inspections, and dielectric testing annually.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, brake, and engine systems on-site.
• Service forestry and utility fleet assets, including bucket trucks and digger derricks.
• Maintain accurate repair and service records.
• Operate as a mobile technician across Abilene, TX with overnight travel 2–4 nights per week.

A growing fleet service provider in the Abilene, TX area is hiring a Mobile Fleet Technician to service utility, telecom, rail, and forestry equipment. Duties & Responsibilities:Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled services on fleet vehicles and equipment in the field.Conduct DOT inspections, ANSI boom inspections, and dielectric testing annually per federal standards.Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, air brake, wet brake, and engine systems on-site.Service specialized fleet assets, including forestry trucks, bucket trucks, digger derricks, and related utility vehicles.Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and service documentation.Operate independently as a mobile technician throughout the Abilene, TX area and surrounding areas.Travel regularly with 2–4 overnight stays per week based on fleet location and availability.
