Job summary

Protech Automotive Solutions is seeking an Automotive Installation Technician to install and support GPS, telematics, cameras, sensors, and other fleet technology on cars, trucks, tractors, and trailers. This hands-on role welcomes mechanics expanding into fleet tech and emphasizes learning new systems.

You'll perform 12V/24V wiring, route wiring neatly, test connectivity, and document installations. Travel to customer sites for on-site projects while maintaining safety and high-quality results.

Qualifications

• Hands-on automotive, electrical, or installation experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities in vehicle systems.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and follow technical instructions.
• Comfortable working independently in a mobile environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and tracking equipment.
• Work on light- to heavy-duty vehicles including trucks and trailers.
• Perform basic 12V/24V wiring and power connections.
• Route and secure wiring for clean installations.
• Test system functionality and connectivity (GPS, cameras, sensors).
• Document installations with photos and service notes.
• Travel to customer locations for mobile installations and projects.
