Job summary

BGIS is seeking a Traveling Facility Maintenance Technician in Peoria, IL. You’ll operate from a fully equipped service vehicle, performing general repairs, preventive maintenance, and small projects to keep client facilities running smoothly.

This role requires 3+ years of commercial maintenance, EPA certification, and a clean driving record. You’ll troubleshoot building systems, service HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and read blueprints while delivering safe, reliable service.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial facility maintenance experience.
• EPA Certification required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally.
• Able to pass drug, background, driving record and security checks.
• Lift up to 75 lbs., climb ladders, work in confined spaces.
• Willing to work overtime and travel as needed.
• Experience with painting, carpentry, plumbing.
• Read blueprints, plans and technical diagrams.
• Budget management experience.
• Customer-focused communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs and small service projects (walls, windows, doors).
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with appliances and building systems.
• Inspect and perform preventive maintenance on plumbing and electrical systems.
• Provide HVAC service on split systems, rooftops, VAVs and water source heat pumps.
• Engage with clients to confirm service requests and ensure satisfaction.
• Adhere to safety standards and building regulations.
