Job summary

State of Louisiana is seeking an on-site maintenance/operations worker who will perform a variety of manual tasks and light equipment operation to support flood protection operations in Louisiana. The role emphasizes physical effort and reliability in challenging conditions.

No prior experience is required, and a valid driver's license is required. The position may involve emergency response duties and on-call readiness, with salary determined by qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Operates motorized equipment, including zero turning radius commercial riding lawn mowers, push lawnmowers, line trimmers, other equipment to support operations under the jurisdiction of the Authority.
  • Operates small handheld power equipment such as polesaws, chainsaws, and blowers.
  • Drives crew trucks towing trailers on and between work sites.
  • Assists mechanic with minor repairs to equipment as required, including disassembling and reassembling parts, and lubricating and fueling equipment.
  • Assists in performing scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment as required, including fluid and filter changes, and parts lubrication.
  • Reports to work during emergency events as needed and remains on site until emergency has subsided. Maintains on site preparations in order to be available on call as emergency conditions require.

Job Duties
