Job summary

The Lakefront Management Authority is seeking a dedicated Grass Cutter to maintain outdoor grounds, mow and trim grass, and keep airport facilities safe and presentable.

The role involves operating lawn-care equipment, picking up debris, repairing fences and light fixtures, and assisting with the maintenance of over 350 airfield lights and signs. This is a probational appointment with duties that support environmental compliance and daily operational reliability.

Qualifications

About This Job
Mission

The Lakefront Management Authority manages, controls, regulates, operates, and maintains any non-flood-protection facility, improvement asset, or function within a levee district within the jurisdiction of a flood protection authority.

Position Overview

This position is responsible for maintaining the agency’s outdoor grounds by mowing and trimming grass, edging walkways, and clearing debris. The Grass Cutter operates lawn-care equipment safely and performs basic upkeep of tools. The role supports the overall appearance and safety of the agency’s property.

Minimum Qualifications

One year of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance; OR

Six semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses.
