Job summary

Gerdau in Tennessee is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate mobile and magnet cranes, process scrap, and support yard logistics. You will load/unload trucks and railcars, prep scrap to spec, and perform preventive maintenance to keep equipment in optimal condition.

The role requires strong teamwork, problem-solving, and adherence to Gerdau’s safety and environmental standards. High School diploma or GED preferred; continuous development encouraged.

Responsibilities

Heavy Equipment Operator | Gerdau

Safety-driven operator with hands-on experience running mobile cranes, magnet cranes, and shears to process and move scrap materials efficiently. Supporting daily yard operations by loading and unloading trucks and railcars, preparing scrap to spec, and maintaining equipment through inspections and preventive maintenance. Must have strong teamwork, problem-solving, and a commitment to Gerdau’s safety, environmental, and core values.
