Job summary

Gerdau in Jackson, TN is seeking a Mobile Equipment Operator I to support yard operations. You will operate mobile and magnet cranes, process and move scrap, and prepare materials to spec while prioritizing safety and reliability.

You will load and unload trucks and railcars, inspect and maintain equipment, and collaborate with teammates to meet production and quality targets. High School/GED preferred; opportunities for growth and benefits are included.

Responsibilities

Heavy Equipment Operator | Gerdau

Safety-driven operator with hands-on experience running mobile cranes, magnet cranes, and shears to process and move scrap materials efficiently. Supporting daily yard operations by loading and unloading trucks and railcars, preparing scrap to spec, and maintaining equipment through inspections and preventive maintenance. Must have strong teamwork, problem-solving, and a commitment to Gerdau’s safety, environmental, and core values.
