Job summary

Steel Dynamics, Inc. is seeking a skilled mobile equipment mechanic to repair and maintain electric, diesel, and gasoline systems. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership and can read job orders to plan work procedures.

Responsibilities include ignition systems, wheel alignment, battery work, engine overhauls, safety inspections, lubrication, and preventative maintenance on trucks and related attachments. High school diploma or 3 years experience required.

Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma or 3 years mobile mechanic experience.
• Basic math skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to complete assignments timely.

Responsibilities

• Engage fully in Take control of Safety initiatives.
• Reads job orders and observes equipment to plan work procedures.
• Installs ignition systems, aligns wheels, handles batteries and transmissions.
• Overhauls gas or diesel engines.
• Inspects guards, bolts and safety devices and makes adjustments.
• Lubes lifting or towing attachments and hydraulic systems per drawings.
• Performs Preventative Maintenance on mobile equipment.
• Fills out purchase requisitions for parts.

Annual Salary - 90k+

This position repairs and maintains electric, diesel, and gasoline mobile equipment. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• 100% engagement in “Take control of Safety” initiatives
• Reads job order and observes/listens to equipment to determine malfunction and to plan work procedures
• Installs new ignition systems, aligns wheels, changes or recharges batteries, and replaces transmissions and other parts
• Overhauls gas or diesel engines
• Examines protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks and makes adjustments
• Lubricates special lifting or towing attachments, hydraulic systems, shields, or other devices according to blueprints or schematic drawings
• Perform Preventative Maintenance as designated on mobile equipment
• Fills out purchase requisitions for part to be ordered

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or 3 years mobile mechanic experience
• Basic math skills
• Ability to complete assignments in a timely manner with attention to detail

Preferred:

• ASE Certification
• Diesel Background
• Experience with Heavy Mobile Equipment
