Job summary

Recycling Management Resources, LLC is seeking a Full Time Equipment Operator for our West Monroe, LA facility. The Equipment Operator will run forklifts and skid steers, perform basic maintenance, and help keep the plant running safely and efficiently.

The candidate should have 2+ years of experience operating mobile equipment, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to work rotating 8-hour shifts (6 am–2 pm, 2 pm–10 pm, 10 pm–6 am) with occasional extended or weekend hours.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience operating skid steers, forklifts, or similar equipment
  • Familiarity with heavy industrial or recycling environments is a plus
  • Experience performing basic mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting is preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Recycling Management Resources is seeking a Full Time Equipment Operator for our West Monroe, LA facility. The Equipment Operator is responsible for operating various equipment within the operation including, but not limited to, Forklift and/or Skid Steers. The Equipment Operator is responsible for operating equipment in a safe and effective manner while maintaining the production. Routine inspections and preventative maintenance are also a requirement of the position. Mechanical aptitude and hands‑on experience with equipment maintenance are strongly preferred in this role. A team attitude and willingness to learn are critical for success.

This position will support equipment operations during a work shift and you must be able to work rotating 8-hour shifts, with occasional extended or weekend hours REQUIRED. (Shift times are 6 am to 2 pm, 2pm to 10 pm & 10 pm to 6 am). Shifts rotate every two weeks.

How you will make an impact:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. This position will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:

  • Following all plant safety guidelines
  • Operating equipment in furtherance of the objectives of the facility
    • Using forklifts to load/unload material from trailers
    • Using skid steers to move loose materials within the plant and load machinery
  • Ensuring accuracy and quality of materials loaded on trailer is to the operation standard
  • Documenting inventory and activity including recording quantities and weights
  • Performing pre‑and post‑trip inspections of mobile and stationary equipment that includes performing preventative maintenance and cleaning of equipment to ensure that it is in proper and safe working order before and after each shift
  • Assisting with preventative maintenance tasks to support uptime and safe operation of all equipment when called upon
  • Identifying, troubleshooting, and reporting mechanical or operational issues on mobile and stationary equipment
  • Performing basic mechanical maintenance and minor repairs as assigned (e.g., greasing, belt checks, fluid levels, adjustments)
  • General plant housekeeping
What you need to succeed:
Education/Experience:
  • 2+ years’ experience operating skid steers, forklifts, or similar mobile equipment
  • Familiarity with heavy industrial or recycling environments is a plus
  • Experience performing basic mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting is strongly preferred
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment

The ideal candidate will have skills and experience in the following areas:

  • High awareness of safety at all times
  • Ability to demonstrate proficient operation of forklift and/or skid steer
  • Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to perform or assist in routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment
  • Comfort using basic hand tools
  • Willingness to learn additional mechanical skills through on‑the‑job training
  • Ability to operate equipment properly and safely
  • Strict adherence to OSHA and company policies.
