Job summary

CSS is seeking a Chemist for its EPA mobile laboratory program in Castle Rock, CO. The role focuses on on-site and remote chemical analysis across air, soil, water, and surface wipe samples, using GC/MS, LC/MS/MS, and related instruments.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemistry or a physical science from an accredited college or university.
• 5–10 years minimum of environmental laboratory operations experience.
• Experience with LC/MS/MS, GC/MS and/or GC TOF.
• Familiar with LIMS and instrument software.
• Knowledge of EPA SW-846 methods and QA programs.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and analyzes environmental samples for organic analysis.
• Performs GC/MS, GC TOF or LC/MS/MS analyses and data validation.
• Uses LIMS and instrument software to analyze data and prepare reports.
• Maintains instrumentation and safety practices; logs data in notebooks.
• Travel with mobile laboratories for field work up to 2 weeks.
