Job summary

CSS Inc. seeks an Environmental Analytical Chemist for its EPA mobile laboratory program in Castle Rock, CO. The role focuses on on-site and remote chemical analysis of samples (air, soil, water, wipes) using GC/MS, GC TOF or LC/MS/MS and data validation.

You will operate LIMS, prepare samples, perform instrument maintenance, document results, and compile data packages. Travel to field sites up to two weeks as needed and work under the PHILIS Supervisor/Lead Chemist.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemistry from an accredited college or university.
• 5–10 years' experience in environmental laboratory operations with organic analysis.
• Experience with LC/MS/MS, GC/MS and/or GC TOF; LIMS knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze environmental samples for organic analysis using GC/MS, GC TOF or LC/MS/MS.
• Log in samples in LIMS, prep for analysis, and maintain notebooks and safety.
• Perform instrument maintenance and generate data packages and reports.
• Travel with mobile labs for field work up to 2 weeks when needed.
