About The Role
The role builds and maintains the native mobile applications that millions of users interact with daily - owning features end-to-end from design handoff to App Store and Play Store release.
This is a hands-on engineering position on a product-focused mobile team, where release quality, crash-free rates, and interaction latency are treated as first-class engineering metrics, not afterthoughts.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and ship user-facing features across iOS (Swift/SwiftUI) and Android (Kotlin/Jetpack Compose) in tight two-week release cycles
- Own feature development end-to-end: API contracts with backend engineers, UI implementation from Figma specs, instrumentation, and release rollout
- Build and maintain shared architecture - modularization, offline-first data layers, and deep link routing - used across both platforms
- Improve app performance and reliability: cold start times, memory footprint, ANR/crash rates, and battery efficiency, tracked via Firebase Crashlytics and Sentry
- Implement automated testing strategies: unit tests, screenshot/UI tests (XCUITest, Espresso), and CI pipelines using Bitrise or GitHub Actions
- Participate in staged rollouts, feature flag management (LaunchDarkly), and hotfix triage during release windows
- Contribute to code reviews, mobile guild discussions, and mentoring of mid-level engineers on the team
What We Are Looking For
- 3-6 years of experience building and shipping consumer mobile applications to the App Store and/or Google Play
- Deep expertise in Swift or Kotlin, with strong command of SwiftUI or Jetpack Compose for modern declarative UI
- Experience integrating REST and GraphQL APIs, handling auth, pagination, caching, and offline sync patterns
- Track record of debugging production issues using crash reporting tools (Crashlytics, Sentry) and profiling tools (Instruments, Android Profiler)
- Familiarity with CI/CD for mobile: automated builds, code signing, TestFlight/Play Console release management
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience; strong fundamentals in concurrency, memory management, and mobile architecture patterns (MVVM, MVI)
- Bonus: experience with Kotlin Multiplatform or cross-platform frameworks, mobile backend development, accessibility (WCAG), or local notification/push infrastructure (APNs, FCM)
