Job summary

The Intersect Group seeks a Mobile Application Engineer to design, develop, and maintain high-quality mobile apps for iOS and Android using Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) and Compose Multiplatform, moving toward a unified codebase. You'll collaborate with backend engineers, product managers, and hardware teams to ship features end-to-end, write robust tests, participate in code reviews, and continuously improve

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain shared mobile code using Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose Multiplatform.
• Build and maintain platform-specific integrations for iOS and Android.
• Integrate mobile apps with backend services and RESTful APIs.
• Collaborate with backend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver features end to end.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code following established engineering practices.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues across platforms.
• Participate in code reviews and evolve engineering best practices, especially multiplatform development.
• Continuously improve system performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Update applications to support new OS versions and platform requirements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Mobile Application Engineer (Kotlin Multiplatform)

About the Role

We are seeking a Mobile Application Engineer to design, develop, and maintain high-quality mobile applications across iOS and Android. This role is central to our shift toward a unified codebase strategy using Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) and Compose Multiplatform, replacing separate native Swift and Kotlin development tracks. You'll help build a seamless, user-friendly mobile experience that integrates with backend systems, IoT, and Bluetooth-connected devices.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain shared mobile code using Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose Multiplatform.

• Integrate mobile applications with backend services and RESTful APIs.

What We're Looking For

Must-Haves

• Strong hands-on experience with Kotlin and solid command of Kotlin fundamentals.
• 5+ years of experience developing mobile applications (iOS and/or Android).
• Experience with mobile architecture patterns such as MVVM and Clean Architecture.
• Comfortable integrating mobile apps with RESTful APIs, JSON, and third-party libraries.
• Proficiency with Git version control.
• Experience working with IoT and BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) connected devices.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Highly Preferred

• Direct experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) and Compose Multiplatform.
• Experience with other cross-platform frameworks (e.g., React Native, Flutter) is a plus, though KMP/Compose Multiplatform experience is most relevant to this role.
• Prior experience with native Swift/iOS development is a bonus but not required — strong Kotlin skills are considered highly transferable to this multiplatform environment.
