About The Role
The Mobile Engineer will design, build, and operate native iOS and Android experiences used by customers every day. The role spans product-facing application development, mobile architecture, API integration, performance optimization, offline behavior, and release management across the full mobile lifecycle. You will work closely with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and data teams to turn complex workflows into fast, reliable mobile products. The team values engineers who can make sound platform-specific decisions while maintaining consistent experiences across Swift and Kotlin codebases.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain production mobile features using Swift for iOS and Kotlin for Android, partnering with product and design from technical discovery through release
- Design robust client architectures, networking layers, local data stores, and offline-first workflows that remain reliable across varied devices and connectivity conditions
- Integrate REST and GraphQL APIs, authentication flows, push notifications, analytics instrumentation, and third-party SDKs
- Improve application performance through startup-time optimization, memory profiling, battery-conscious background work, and responsive UI implementation
- Create automated unit, integration, and UI tests using XCTest, XCUITest, Espresso, or equivalent frameworks; maintain meaningful coverage for critical user journeys
- Own mobile release processes through CI/CD pipelines, phased rollouts, crash monitoring, feature flags, and App Store and Google Play submission workflows
- Participate in architecture reviews and code reviews; document technical decisions and raise the engineering quality bar across the mobile team
What We Are Looking For
- 3-8 years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 2 years building and shipping production iOS or Android applications
- Strong proficiency in Swift and iOS development or Kotlin and Android development, with a solid understanding of platform SDKs, lifecycle management, concurrency, and accessibility
- Experience designing mobile applications that consume REST or GraphQL services, handle authentication and secure local storage, and recover gracefully from network failures
- Hands-on experience with mobile testing, debugging, profiling, and observability tools such as XCTest, XCUITest, Espresso, Instruments, Firebase Crashlytics, or equivalent
- Proficiency with Git, code review workflows, dependency management, and CI/CD systems such as Fastlane, GitHub Actions, Bitrise, or comparable tooling
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience
- Bonus: Experience with both iOS and Android, cross-platform frameworks such as React Native or Flutter, mobile security practices, accessibility standards, and large-scale consumer applications
