About The Role
The Mobile Engineer builds and owns native iOS and Android experiences used by customers every day. The role focuses on delivering reliable, responsive mobile products across the full development lifecycle, from technical design and API integration through release, monitoring, and iteration.
You will work with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and QA to turn product requirements into polished mobile workflows. The team values strong platform fundamentals, thoughtful architecture, automated testing, and measurable improvements to performance, stability, and user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and ship production mobile features using Swift and SwiftUI for iOS, Kotlin and Jetpack Compose for Android, or a comparable native stack
- Design maintainable mobile architecture, navigation flows, networking layers, local persistence, and state management for complex user-facing products
- Integrate REST and GraphQL APIs, authentication services, analytics, push notifications, and third-party SDKs while maintaining secure data-handling practices
- Improve application performance, startup time, crash rates, battery usage, and accessibility through profiling, instrumentation, and targeted optimization
- Write unit, integration, and UI tests using XCTest, XCUITest, Espresso, or equivalent frameworks; maintain reliable CI pipelines for automated builds and releases
- Collaborate with backend, design, and product teams to define technical requirements, estimate delivery, and resolve platform-specific tradeoffs
- Monitor production releases using tools such as Firebase Crashlytics, Datadog, or Sentry, and lead debugging, incident response, and remediation for mobile issues
What We Are Looking For
- 3–8 years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 2 years building and releasing production iOS or Android applications
- Strong proficiency in Swift and iOS SDKs or Kotlin and Android SDKs, with practical experience in modern native UI frameworks such as SwiftUI or Jetpack Compose
- Demonstrated understanding of mobile architecture patterns, asynchronous programming, concurrency, dependency injection, lifecycle management, and offline or poor-network behavior
- Experience integrating REST or GraphQL APIs, authentication flows, analytics platforms, push notifications, deep links, and mobile payment or subscription systems
- Hands-on experience with automated testing, Git-based development workflows, CI/CD, App Store or Google Play release processes, and staged production rollouts
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience
- Bonus: Experience developing for both iOS and Android, working with Kotlin Multiplatform or Flutter, implementing accessibility standards, and contributing to open-source mobile projects
