Easterseals Chicago is seeking a Floating Teacher to cover classrooms, support teachers, and help implement Head Start program objectives. The role requires flexible teaching across age groups, maintaining director credentials, and providing classroom coverage as needed.

The position offers a $3,000 sign-on bonus and is located at the Easterseals Gilchrist Marchman Child Development Center in Chicago, IL. A strong commitment to child development and collaboration with leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in early childhood education or related field with at least 30 hours in ECE.
• Gateway Early Childhood Credential Level 4 and Infant Toddler credential Level 4 within one year of hire.
• Gateway Director Credential Level II within one year of hire.
• Paraprofessional license required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom coverage for PTO, plan time, coaching sessions and additional support.
• Complete screenings/assessments; maintain data in ChildPlus and Teaching Strategies Gold.
• Ensure active supervision and safety for all children at all times.
• Create a developmentally appropriate classroom environment aligned with standards.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and adapt for disabilities.
• Build positive relationships with parents and engage them in development.
