Job summary

Rush Truck Centers in California is seeking an Experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to maintain fleets at client locations and respond to service calls with on-site expertise. We are hiring tenured and certified technicians to support our customers across our nationwide network.

Responsibilities include routine maintenance, diagnostics with diagnostic tools, inventory control on the service truck, after-hours availability, and precise documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Current CDL preferred but not required.
• Medical card as required by FMVSS.
• Mechanical aptitude and technical ability.
• Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, & ASE certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks, cleanliness, and inspections.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and for stock.
• Report to the Service Manager and be assigned daily duties.
• Maintain availability for after-hours service calls and open work schedule.
• Read job orders and diagnose vehicle malfunctions to plan procedures.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment to determine repairs and perform procedures.
• Perform diagnostic and documentation functions on the company computer system.
• Ensure safety devices are functioning and lubricate parts as needed.
• Document and submit paperwork accurately in the mobile service program.
• Respond to customer inquiries and foster positive relations.
