Job summary

Rush Truck Leasing is seeking a Mobile Diesel Mechanic to maintain client fleets and respond to service calls at customer locations. You will perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs, using manuals and diagnostic tools, while delivering strong service and safety standards.

You will manage service truck inventory, document work in the company system, and coordinate with the Service Manager. After-hours availability and a valid CDL/driver license are required; FMVSS medical card is

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Med Card as required by FMVSS.
• Current and valid driver license with insurability per company policy.
• Mechanical aptitude and technical ability are essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Perform basic maintenance of trucks including fueling, oil checks, cleaning, and documenting inspections.
• Manage inventory on the service truck and keep vehicle stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and follow daily duties.
• Be available for after-hours service calls and flexible scheduling.
• Maintain and inventory tools required for diesel truck maintenance.
• Read job orders and diagnose vehicle malfunctions using diagnostic equipment.
• Perform repair procedures and replace components as needed.
• Document and submit paperwork accurately in the mobile service program.
• Ensure safety devices are functioning and perform required safety checks.
• Communicate repairs and next steps to customers and service writer.
