Job summary

Rush Enterprises, Inc. is seeking an Experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to service fleets at customer locations. You will perform diagnostic and repair work on diesel trucks and equipment, manage truck-on-board inventories, and maintain safety and paperwork standards.

You will read job orders, use diagnostic tools, and ensure all tasks meet company standards while maintaining after-hours availability. The role demands strong mechanical aptitude and industry certifications where applicable,

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Current CDL preferred but not required.
• Medical card as required by FMVSS.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks, cleaning, and required inspections.
• Manage inventory on the service truck and for stocking the vehicle.
• Report to the Service Manager and be assigned daily duties.
• Be available for after-hours service calls and open work schedule.
• Maintain and inventory tools for diesel engine trucks and related equipment.
• Read job orders and plan procedures by listening to vehicle operation.
• Use diagnostic equipment to determine malfunctions and perform correct repairs.
• Document all work in the company computer system.
• Inspect guards, bolts and safety devices; adjust as needed.
• Lubricate moving parts and verify conformance to specs.
• Perform preventative maintenance as requested.
• Submit paperwork in a timely manner and update mobile service program.
• Respond to customer inquiries and foster positive relations.
• Advise customers on repairs to be performed within 3 months.
• Participate in training and apply it on the job.
