Job summary

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive seeks a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and light to moderate repairs in a mobile/field environment. You will diagnose systems, road test vehicles, and document findings using the TRAIT app, while maintaining the service truck and adhering to safety standards.

This role requires tools, DOT/FMCSA compliance, and a valid driver's license; ASE T8 within 18 months is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3 years related experience, or 5 years related experience.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools required for duties.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• DOT/FMCSA pre-employment background check and DOT physical.
• DOT medical card acceptable if valid; otherwise DOT physical required.
• Age 21+ with valid state driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform PMs and DOT inspections on light, medium, and heavy trucks in field.
• Diagnose, repair, and adjust electrical, braking, cooling and engine systems.
• Road test vehicles and document findings; upload RO details via TRAIT app.
• Maintain service truck, safety checks, and daily pre/post trip inspections.
• Coordinate with clients to assess needs and obtain approvals on estimates.
• Manage parts inventory and supplier approvals; comply with safety policies.
