Job summary

Cox Fleet in Austin, TX is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and repairs in a mobile/field setting. The role emphasizes independent scheduling, diagnostic work, and on-site customer communication.

You will handle electrical, brake, and engine systems, document findings on our TRAIT app, and ensure compliance with DOT and OSHA standards. Weekly pay and benefits support career growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 3 years related field experience or 5 years alternative.
• Own set of hand tools to perform required duties.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within eighteen months.
• DOT/FMCSA pre-employment screening and DOT physical.
• Valid driver’s license; 21+ years old.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and engine systems.
• Document work on RO via TRAIT app using company-issued iOS device.
• Maintain service truck and conduct safety checks; pre-/post-trip inspections.
• Communicate with management for approvals and PO numbers; manage schedules.
