Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in North Charleston, South Carolina seeks an Experienced Level Diesel Technician to work on heavy-duty vehicles on a second shift (1:30 pm – 10:00 pm).

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, 2+ years of mechanical repair and diagnostics experience on heavy/medium-duty equipment, and the tools required by Ryder's maintenance

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational or Technical Certification in related field preferred.
• Two (2) years or more experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment
• Must have minimum tools required to perform their job duties as outlined in Ryder's Maintenance policy 2.02
• Pass a Ryder drug test and previous employer's for the past 3 years, DOT physical, Ryder road test, pass a Ryder Background check and Motor vehicle check including Drug and Alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Able to take home assigned mobile service truck as applicable and secure vehicle and contents preferred

Responsibilities

• Repair and diagnose heavy- and medium-duty vehicles.
• Work on heavy-duty vehicle maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain a safety-first workplace with state-of-the-art equipment.
• Build and enhance skills with paid training.
