Job summary

Rush Truck Centers in Arizona is seeking a Mobile Diesel Mechanic to maintain a fleet and service client locations. You will perform cleaning, maintenance, inspections, and parts replacement with proper manuals, while documenting work performed in the company system.

You will report to the Service Manager and must be available for after-hours service, with an emphasis on customer relations and safety. A valid CDL and medical card are required, along with strong mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 9 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Have a current and valid CDL and Medical card as required by FMVSS.
• Mechanical aptitude and technical ability is a must.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks, cleanliness, and required inspections.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and for keeping the vehicle properly stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and be assigned duties daily.
• Maintain availability for after-hours service calls and an open work schedule.
• Maintain and inventory the supplied tools for the work required in maintaining diesel engine trucks and related equipment.
• Read job orders and observe vehicle operation to determine malfunction and plan work procedures.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment to determine malfunction and perform correct repair procedures.
• Diagnose and replace injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, bearings, oil pans, clutches, and transmissions.
• Document and use company computer system to report work performed.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding the work and foster positive relations.
• Advise customer/service writer of repairs to be performed within next 3 months.
• Participate in training and apply it on the job.
