Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking a Mobile Diesel Mechanic to maintain fleet equipment at client locations in Odessa, Texas. You will perform diagnostics, replacements, and preventative maintenance while delivering strong customer service.

Responsibilities include documenting work, managing tool inventories, and coordinating with the Service Manager. CDL and FMVSS-compliant medical card are required, with the ability to work after hours as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 9 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Have a current and valid CDL and Medical card as required by the FMVSS.
• Mechanical aptitude and technical ability are essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks, cleaning, and required inspections.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and for keeping the vehicle properly stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and be assigned daily duties.
• Maintain availability for after-hours service calls and an open work schedule.
• Read job orders and observe vehicle operation to determine malfunctions and plan procedures.
