Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is seeking a Mobile Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic to perform heavy-duty truck repairs at customer locations. You will develop relationships, drive service sales, and coordinate repairs with the shop and service teams across a designated territory.

The role requires 3+ years of heavy-duty repair, valid A/C, Brake and DOT inspector certs, CDL may be required, and strong communication. Benefits include comprehensive insurance, PTO, 401(k) and more.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years heavy duty truck repair experience.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector certifications required; Engine and Component certifications are a plus.
• Must be self-motivated and capable of working with little supervision.
• Must have commitment to customer satisfaction and perform quality repairs.
• Must have excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Class A or B CDL and/or DOT medical card may be required depending on the vehicle size.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical repairs and maintenance on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components.
• Coordinate repair orders with Service Manager and Shop Foremen; schedule work with Service Advisor.
• Advise customers on needed service work and suggest additional labor, parts, and body shop sales.
• Follow safety practices and maintain safety of tools and vehicles; report any damage.
• Build favorable relations with customers and promote services and products.
• Create and close repair orders in the MHC system and document time and parts.
• Manage budget, tooling and parts inventory on the service truck.
• Call on key accounts; promote preventive maintenance and new products.
