Job summary

Vanguard Truck Centers is hiring Diesel Technicians to diagnose and repair diesel trucks, following dealership and factory standards. You will order and verify parts with the parts department, perform road tests when needed, and document all work on repair orders.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years heavy truck experience preferred.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Safety shoes are required on day one of employment.
• Background screening is a mandatory prerequisite for employment consideration.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses cause of malfunctions and performs repair on diesel trucks or equipment.
• Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Examines assigned vehicle to determine further safety or service work.
• Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician.
• Supervises work of any apprentice diesel technicians as assigned.

Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.Keeps shop area neat and clean for your safety and safety of other diesel technicians.Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.Reports any safety issues immediately to management.- Minimum of 2 years heavy truck experience preferred- Valid Driver's License (required)- Ability to meet insurability requirementsSafety shoes are required on day one of employment.
