Job summary

Vanguard Truck Centers LLC in Texas is seeking Diesel Technicians for a rewarding career with growth opportunities. You will diagnose and repair diesel trucks, coordinate with parts, document repairs and test vehicles to meet standards.

You will collaborate with senior technicians, participate in manufacturer training, and pursue professional development. A high school diploma or technical training is preferred, with 1–2 years of diesel experience and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or vocational/technical education required.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with ability to obtain CDL.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair diesel trucks to dealership and factory standards.
  • Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
  • Maintain clean, safe work area and document all work on repair orders.
  • Mentor apprentices as assigned and participate in training programs.

Our unique footprint allows us to provide a diverse range of products and services across many industries, and across the country.RESPONSIBILITIES for Diesel TechniciansDiesel Technicians performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair on diesel Trucks or equipment.Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.Diesel Technician will documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician.Diesel Technician will participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.Supervises work of any apprentice diesel technicians as assigned.Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.Ensures that customers' vehicles are kept clean. Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.Keeps shop area neat and clean for your safety and safety of other diesel technicians.Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals.
